Besides writing books, my passion is my work as a Creativity Coach. Whether you are working to complete a manuscript, overcoming writer’s block or just starting to write I can help you attain your creative potential. I work with clients one-on-one (in my Albuquerque home or by phone) to do just that: create a writer’s life. I do this by helping clients identify clear goals and strategies, thereby eliminating disorganization and procrastination, and putting others first to the detriment of one’s own dreams. We also address fear of failure and success and other forms of self-sabotage. I work with clients to set up short and long-term strategies aimed toward the goal of publication. I hold my clients accountable. We get results.
I am the author of the widely-translated novel, Mother Tongue, winner of the Western States Book Award, and a book of essays, Confessions of a Berlitz-Tape Chicana, winner of an International Latino Book Award. I am also the author of two books of poetry, and a children’s book, and a collection of short fiction. I am the 2010 recipient of the Friends of New Mexico Books Award for contributions to the literature of New Mexico.
